Operate Uninspected Vessels with up to 6 Passengers and 100 Gross Tons
The US Coast Guard OUPV (Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels) License allows boaters to operate an uninspected vessel of up to 100 Gross Tons. Often referred to as a six-pack license, the certification allows captains to operate boats carrying up to six passengers.
Operate Vessels Including:
- High-speed ferries
- Whale watching boats
- Charter boats carrying over six passengers
- Vessels of other sizes and capacities up to 100 tons

To Complete this Course
To complete this course, you must:
- Finish all Coursework in every module including video lectures, readings, and quizzes
- Schedule and Take your Final examination in person with Confident Captain
- Complete the course within 6 months of starting the course
Completion of the course and exam does not guarantee your Captain’s License. As part of the requirements 46 CFR Part 10, you are further required to undertake:
- Physical and Drug Testing
- Submit Letters of reference
- Complete Sea service requirements
